F Blues Invention provides students with an introduction to both jazz and polyphonic playing. The piece follows the F blues chord progression while the melody is based on the F Blues scale. The main bluesy melody stars in the right hand and then enters in the left hand providing both hands with a duet. It is a perfect opportunity for elementary level students to learn about contrapuntal music while also learning about jazz and blues.
