Prelude No. 2, Homage to Bach

Description

Inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier Book 1, Prelude No. 1, this piece begins with the simple opening chord progression of Bach’s famous Prelude and then verges into a different harmonic direction while utilizing the arpeggiated pattern from that same Prelude. The majestic chord sequence in the middle will help students master their root and inversion triads and diminished 7th chords through some exciting harmonies. It ends by fading away with an arpeggio built on the Picardy 3rd of the harmonic minor.
